Abstract

The electrical characteristics of the DC glow discharge are determined. The I - V characteristic curves of the DC glow discharge of Argon gas and Paschen's curves are measured. Two important physical parameters affecting the condition of the discharge are the gas pressure and the inter-electrode distance. Langmuir single probe is used to determine the plasma parameters (e.g., electron temperature Te, ion density Ni and plasma potential VS at different experimental conditions (e.g. gas pressure and discharge current)).
