Abstract

Background: Unemployment is associated with a higher risk of sickness, mortality, mental health problems, and worse levels of life satisfaction, and it leads to collapse of the global economy during pandemic.

Aim: This study aimed assessing the level of impacts of unemployment on immigrants during pandemic covid-19 lockdown among immigrants from Pondicherry.

Methodology: A Quantitative descriptive cross sectional research design was used. 40 participants were selected by using exponential non discriminative snow ball sampling technique who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The data was collected using self-administrative questionnaire.

Results: Majority 31(77.5%) participants were at moderate impact, 9(22.5%) were at high level of impact and no one is at lower level of impact in unemployment on immigrants during pandemic lockdown.

Conclusion: The nation faced lots of distress during pandemic lockdown. The citizens therefore, ended up with struggles on food, housing, health care, children education and so on. So that it could be generalized into preview of rules to resolve the problems of unemployment.
