Abstract

Black knot is a fungal disease caused by the fungus Apiosporina morbosa. Black knot is a slow developer and it takes time to appear with visible symptoms. Apiosporina morbosa can be checked during its development stage; otherwise, this plant disease can affect plant growth and fruiting. Moreover, the black galls may be hosts for other pathogens. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “black knot”. All published articles related to “black knot” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding black knot and also to find out the trends related to the same. Wood and Fiber Science is the most active journal and Nature is the most productive journal. The most active and productive country is the USA with the highest number of publications, citations, highest average citation, and co-authorship linkages. Department of Plant Pathology of the University of Georgia is the most active organization and the School Of Forestry And Environmental Studies, Duke University is the organization with the highest number of citations. The most active authors are from China and Aller. M.F is having the highest number of citations and highest average citation.
