Advances in technology have been adapted in our lives making improvements in many aspects of our daily routine. Our dependence in technology is everyday more evident. Healthcare has not embraced technologic advancements at the same pace than other industries. This gap has become more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter reflects some of the technological deficits affecting healthcare, introduces the reader into some of the possibilities that informatics, data management software and artificial intelligence might be bringing in the near future and their application to healthcare.
