Potential Role of Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) in Management of COVID-19: A Review

The results include a decrease in the amount of time required for mechanical ventilation, the prevention of multiple organ dysfunctions, a shorter hospital stay, and a lower mortality rate. Immune modulation is the only way of regulation of the immune system. Punica Granatum has been used as a traditional medicine for centuries. The components of this plant are known for its rich immune-regulation, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits in specially in respiratory disorders. Many of the study results are based on in vitro and cell-based assays. It necessitates further confirmation of in vivo efficacy through human clinical trials.
