Optimum Currency Area for ASEAN and ASEAN+3: A Novel Perspective

Through out the period of 2012-2021, the Analysis of the Optimum Currency Area (OCA) for ASEAN and ASEAN+3 was performed by applying the method based on the model developed by Bayoumi and Eichengreen for the European Countries. For contrasting purposes, this chapter refers to several documents about their integration process and mainly to more recent studies whose conclusions are based on the equation’s empirical terms. Symmetric movements have still been found although the dispersion of the data has increased compared to previous years.
